The shoot occurred in the cold, crisp sunrise at the park, after a false start the previous week. Luna appeared more relaxed and natural while engaged in conversation, so I kept her talking. At first I lead the shoot, but she took over midway with her suggestions, and even reversed roles: taking a photo of me. She was very interested in making this work and overall, rather delightful.
The light was ideal, and the dark backgrounds melded with her dark hair, all elements falling back to bring focus to the face. In this series, the photographs convey a very up close and personal feeling.
