The shoot took place in the park on an overcast morning, which puts on the face an even, flattering light. This lighting is good, because there are no surprises to walk into. And it’s bad for the same reason. Our subject here, Jason, was getting married soon, and wanted an individual portrait as the chapter of his life was changing. And here, his look is a subtle, contented presence, the camera position slightly elevating him. I like how his shirts serve important, opposite roles.
